It has to be installed into the bulkhead between two rooms, in decontamination areas of NBC warfare configured ships (Nuclear Bacterial Chemical) in order to move objects (like dosimeter) from the contaminated room to the safe room. The airtight lock avoids the insane air flow towards the safe room.
